Hi, we have several Acer M464 desktop pcs, and use a vga splitter to send the output to both a monitor and projector (IWB). Sometimes I notice shadowing/poor quality on the monitor.

The graphics card has a VGA and a DVi output. My question is, can I use both at the same time? I.e. put the VGA to the projector, and at the same time have the DVI to the monitor?

Or is a powererd VGA splitter better?

Thanks in advance!

Yeah this is possible. On one of our dual headed cards we can run two monitors as a direct copy of the other. Can be quite useful, actually.

A couple of things worth noting mind, if your projector's a distance off a powered splitter will give better results (signal degredation and all that). Also, I noticed once that a powered splitter without the power applied can cause the ghosting you mention on the screen - some muppet had unplugged the splitter and it took ages to figure out!

Shouldn't do, you should get the same output on each one as mentioned before.

Unless there is a bios setting or something else to disable it.

Give it a go and report back.
