Virgin are not that bad IMO. I'm changing as soon as my contract runs out because of the upload speeds, and I can't stand their customer service, but their uptime in my area is brilliant (not had a single problem in that area) and I have a mesh VPN network set up with my house and a couple of other buildings which transfer a lot of data between them (basically syncing certain drives) to the extent I'm considering the best way to load balance it and there hasn't been any problems with doing this - no noticable throttling. I am lucky to get 1 meg in leicester - only 3 miles out of city centre - too far from exchange - though I seen some virgin cable guys a mile down the road - maybe one day

Just checked my modem - it's looking good :-)

Not sure what I'll do with the extra bandwidth; 2 Mbit has never seemed like a problem but I'm sure that in a few years time I'll wonder how I ever managed with such a slow speed (and is it really only 20 years ago that modems were running at less than one thousandth of that speed)!

Cable Modem Operation Configuration

Maximum Downstream Data Rate : 10242000

Maximum Upstream Data Rate : 514000
