Yesterday was. We had fantasitcally warm sunshine in Preston in the morining and in the afternoon took the kids up to Wycollar country park near Colne to play in real snow as we had none in Preston. When we got there it was idyllic with perfect snow (not the icy type) still thick on the ground. We had pie and pies at the cafe there for tea and went home. That evening Jane and I went to gig in Manchester, the NME awards tour. For £16 we saw Florance and the Machine (great act), White Lies (excellent band with a great live atmosphere), Freindly Fires (not very good and the lead singer was full of himself) and Glasvegas (mindblowing, and they had the amps up to 11! (I still have tinnitus this morning)). All in all I don't think days get much better than that. I wonder what today will bring (hint)?

what could bring more enjoyment than all of those things?

what could whelm you to the max and warm your cockles at the same time?

what could be on the horizon. . .

Strangely enough 'perfect day' is our song for me and my wife. We never had one until the day after we got married. Everyone had gone and we were at home having a cuppa before packing the car for the honeymoon. We turn in the tv just as the BBC are showing their new ident in full... Their video of perfect day. Every time someone says perfect day I just think back to the two of us cuddled up on the sofa, speechless.

 

Yet to find anything to beat it.

Glad you found the snow...

 

My day has been pretty good. Got all three children to go out and have a picture taken and we had one of those silly laughing at nothing sort of mornings. Then we went to a pub and had a lovely lunch.

Doesn't sound like much but being with my children, who are 20, 18 and 16 doesn't happen often and for me, it is absolutely the best times there could be.

Soon they will all have left home (one is at Uni and one goes this year) and so I really love the few times we are all together.

As for 'our song'...we asked for a song to be played at our wedding but the DJ didn't have it, didn't tell us and played Jennifer Rush 'The Power of Love'. Which we didn't like. But it remains 'our' song because of the circumstances - our first dance as a married couple.:love:

Sounds like you had good days, as for Yorkshire Puds with more Yorkshire Puds, can't beat them :) I love good Yorkshire Puds being a Yorkshireman :)

 

@Witch, those photos always sound great, I keep thinking I should go with my sister and get a nice one done for my parents as the last photo we have with both of us on is about 3ft long as its from where I worked 2 places ago, I was in the staff row and my sister with her fellow students as she was a student there at the time so its not the best as it were, I just don't know what my mum and dad would think, my dad would probably be all meh its a photo style of thing.

john: your mum would LOVE it.

With modern cameras you don't need to go to a studio - just get a friend to take loads of shots of the two of you in various locations: then you can choose the one you like best and get it blown up and framed. Honestly, do it. I bet your dad would like it too

Cheers Witch, We may consider it at some point then :) Got a friend that's a pro photographer, works for Getty Images on contract as well as for magazines and stuff, he owes me a good few favours so could probably get him to sort it out for me. Also the place I work has a deal for the PTA with a local photographer where if you go to him he gives money to the PTA which is a nice thing :)
