mikeymike Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 have been asked to look at some kind of email facility. we are a EBD school for boys so some of our students we have to take extra special care for i.e child protection issues. so with the prospect of having for the 1st time a email service this could cause big problems. i have been advised to look at ePals Global Community and just wondered if anyone uses this or knows about it??
mikeymike Posted January 26, 2009 Author Posted January 26, 2009 Why not get an exchange server? D please excuse my lack of knowledge, we use win server 2003 on site but are remotely controlled by more servers elsewhere, so would this cause any probs??
chrbb Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 we use epals, it's good as you have to authorise each email before it's actually sent.
apoth0r Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Very good for an international collaboration with another school, used this in my primary teaching days. It's extremely secure and the kids find it great to email one another but all messages go through to the admin and can be scanned and viewed before they are passed on. Makes quite an enjoyable lesson if you have the creativity! :-) *The admin being the teaching account/teacher*

danrhodes Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 please excuse my lack of knowledge, we use win server 2003 on site but are remotely controlled by more servers elsewhere, so would this cause any probs?? No this would not intrude on your services, do you host your Active Directory on site or is it controlled by the off site server. What do the offsite servers do, who looks after them? D
