mattx Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 'It's time to kick arse and chew bubble gum, and I'm all out of gum......' It's been in development for like 7 years !!! [ or more ] I remember playing the original on my old Cryix cpu !!! Must have made around 50 or 60 maps too. Shadow Warrior was good.....
RabbieBurns Posted December 19, 2008 Author Posted December 19, 2008 The Penthouse Edition was my favourite add-on map as a boy

mattx Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 I seem to remember there was a version based on the old Quake 2 game engine, then Unreal was released so they decided to move it over to that - I have no idea what's going on with it now...

penfold_99 Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 Joystiq Not played a game on a PC since Duke3d ;p This was due out when Red faction came out, one of the main features of duke then was you can blow up any wall, but red faction got there first and dukes unique selling point was blown out the water.

I almost feel sorry for the developers. So much time has passed since the last Duke game that they're going to have to pull something spectacular out the water to live up to the hype and anticipation.

Yeah, I was thinking exactly that after a comment in this months PC Zone. It's going to have to be something amazing, awesome and godlike to cause big ripples in the industry. What with FarCry 2, Crysis, Fear 2, Bioshock, Gears of War(s) and countless over FPS around and about. The 3D version still makes me smiles with his sayings and the pole dancing girls that sometimes turn into baddies.
Domino Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 Come on now... ..we all know its gonna be another 'chinese democracy'
RabbieBurns Posted December 19, 2008 Author Posted December 19, 2008 Im gonna dig out my old copy of D3d. If i can find it.
mattx Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 Im gonna dig out my old copy of D3d. If i can find it. Let me know if you can't - I've still got mine !! I even used to play it on wireplay...... [ or whatever it was called back then ]
Sirbendy Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 (edited) I was playing Shadow warrior the other night..heh..that and Blood 1...nothing has come close to Blood 1's dark humour for me, since.. "whoa, what the hell did that do..?".. Space b@stards was quite good as well (small platformer, NLA unfortunatly) Edited December 19, 2008 by Sirbendy
Reaper Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 I think the development time is closer to about 11 years :S
