tmcd35 Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Oh well! 6 weeks into a new job and I've spent the consumables/department budget! Looks like when the toner runs out next term there'll be no more printing until after Easter
Simcfc73 Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 You'll need to dip into the 'training budget' and stop all the teachers going on 2 day courses at £400 a day so they can get out of teaching Or is that just here
Kitkatninja Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 How did you do that? I take it your predecessor didn't budget correctly? -Ken
Sylv3r Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Oh well! 6 weeks into a new job and I've spent the consumables/department budget! Looks like when the toner runs out next term there'll be no more printing until after Easter I take it the person in the role before you, had spent some of the budget or have you really just gone out and spent a fortune I've just checked my balance and I have £15k still to spend from our Consumables, maintenance and Harnessing Technology pots and this has to be spent by the end of February.
maniac Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 I pay no attention to budgets, the school either needs it or it doesn't, and if it needs it they always find the money from somewhere! Mind you, that's one of the big advantages of working in an academy school, there's a lot of cash floating around. I've got as much money to spend at this school as I had at my last school, but my last school had 3x the number of students. Mike.
tmcd35 Posted December 18, 2008 Author Posted December 18, 2008 I take it the person in the role before you, had spent some of the budget or have you really just gone out and spent a fortune Just over £10k for the year with just over £2k left when I started! Two toner orders later and it's gone! I can blame everything on the last guy for the time being . My turn next year, maybe I need a new Mac Pro for my desk? they always find the money from somewhere! Mind you, that's one of the big advantages of working in an academy school, there's a lot of cash floating around. There is that. Science (we're a Science College) can always be tapped for some extra funds
TriggerHappyUK Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 (edited) Yeah, we get £10k for our school too. 1200 students and 200 staff, 8 full (22-25 PCs) and 2 half full (9-10 PCs) IT suites to support. Edited December 19, 2008 by TriggerHappyUK
