WMP Digital copyright protection error

Ello!

 

Right, teacher tries to play a dvd on her workstation...dumbo or something, original DVD. Gets the havent got codec error so i sort that. Tried to run it again and got "Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because a problem occured with digital copyright protection"....im sure i tried it on her laptop too and got the same error.

 

Any ideas....end of term is coming, dvd's need to be played! lol

Go to My Computer > right click your DVD drive and there should be something along the lines of "Play with PowerDVD", for example

try running this first, Digital rights update, I find the filtering at my school stops mediaplayer from downloding WDRM properly

If you're in a hurry, 1 quick VLC install and you should be sorted

 

VLC media player for Windows

 

Doesn't use the usual Windows codecs/DRM etc so should quite happily play whatever you throw at it.

VLC isn't always the best. I've found lots of DVDs that won't work with it, or the picture doesn't look quite right.
