Anyone had any problems with Volume Shadow Copy and NAS drives after recent updates?

Has anyone had any problems with Volume Shadow Copy and NAS drives after recent updates?

 

Applied the most recent batch of MS security updates last week and haven't successfully backed up since.. Error is

 

Error returned while creating the volume shadow copy:0x80042306.

Volume shadow copy creation: Attempt 2.

 

And logged in the event log for two different NAS drives...

 

Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Unexpected error DeviceIoControl(\\?\Volume{e7079ffa-ac5f-11db-867c-404e57434431} - 0000012C,0x0053c020,00AE0048,0,00037E30,4096,[0]). hr = 0x80070057.

 

If I do a System State backup with VSS but backup to a file on a local HD no problems occur.

 

Tried the VSS rollup package just in case but couldn't see how that would be required suddenly after months of working perfectly. Still no joy.

Have you rebooted since applying the updates?
