Jon Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Hi All, I have just taken over a new network and need to quickly get a handle on who has permission and at what level to the network shares. Is there a way either within active directory, or third party software, that I can easily generate and export a list of all security groups and their memberships, and also what ntfs permissions and share permissions are applied to all of my shared folders. The more free the solution to this is the better.
ChrisH Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Not sure of a good one to audit them but when it comes to fixing them in bulk I can recommend WiseSoft - NTFSFix. NTFS Permissions Utility.
bossman Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 @Jon: tree size professional has this function plus lots of other nice features well worth the money. P.S PM me if you would like a demo version cough! cough! 1
AngryTechnician Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Take a look at AccessEnum for checking permissions. 1
