Crap then.

They could at least specify a range.....

I’m sure if the person applying is crap the wage will be too, if they get it at all. Please don't be put off by the fact that the salary range hasn't been posted. If you are looking for a new job and would like to relocate then give it a shot. What you got to lose? Let me just put it this way, it will be a competative rate for a North London school.

Whats a competative rate for North London - I have no idea........

If the role is not within a range of salary that someone is looking for then how will they know whether to apply, or if its worth them applying ?

I am always looking [ and look for mates of mine ] at job specs / salarys etc - but it's no use passing the info on if there is no salary range......

If we ring the school would they tell us ?

To be honest mattx I have no idea if they will or won’t tell you the salary range. I just thought I would post the job up here to see if anyone was interested.

A degree in a technical IT related discipline (min 2:2).

Erm, why? Trust me when I say that there is hardly anything taught on those courses that has any relevance to the job on offer. Professional quals would be more relevant, but experience should be the thing to look for IMHO.

i'm sure this was posted before, i wonder what happened to the last technician......as for the salary it was around the 27k mark there abouts i think...

I'll give them a call in the morning if I get the chance, or I'll get my mate to as he would be the one applying for it not me !! I'm quite happy where I am at the moment.

As for that - never heard of it - well I have not heard of any IT related exams these days as I don't have anything or studied anything of that nature !!

I beg to differ. I did a degree in Computing specialising in Networks. The course had some very relevant modules. Granted there were some which were a complete waste of time but for the most a very good course.

I, like may other here here also have 'networking' qualifications, unfortunately networking takes up about 2% of my overall workload, and all the stuff that no courses ever cover the other 98%.

yet for a relevant teaching post in the same school with those kind of qualifications and experience that they are looking for one would presume at least 35k would be in order and even more.

As it is a technical post it is classed as a support role when in fact it will be a major role within the school but paid at the support role allowance.

Not worth the move as the cost of living is so expensive down in London even with the weighting allowance on top.

Hope they get what they are asking for? :(

Yes, I remember seeing this one about six months or so ago and I recall at the time the absence of any remuneration details, which put me off. It makes you wonder whether those responsible for putting together recruitment adverts realise they are limiting the numbers of potential respondents through this non-disclosure approach.

I belive the current Senior Technician has been promoted. Thats why the position has become available again.
