ANything to do with our video conferencing system. Ive never read a manual in my life, never had a problem working things out, was using BASIC at age 2, can manage CISCO routers blah blah, but i cant for the life of me work out , even after reading the 1 page manual, how to even connect to someone.

 

I reckon that has to have something to do with configuring a device using a remote control.

It seems the expectation is for the network manager and techs to set up and fully implement and train teachers/students in using the VLE. Sorry! dont get me wrong i think it works to a certain extent, but in my opinion it should be teacher/student driven as they will be the ones who use it on a day to day basis.

 

in retrospect to my rant is there anyone that knows of any case studies where the above has happened so i can forward it on to SLT.

I am totally phobic of doing major work on the PCs at home...

 

Somehow it's more scary when it's my kit involved. I feel a lot happier if I've done the install/update/change on a machine at school first! I feel more in control there!

Anything that a three year old could do but requires me to do because the teacher is too frickin idle, stupid, lazy, dumb... [insert ] to bother with.

 

Top of my list therefore are:

- Rebooting a hung laptop

- Correcting a teachers own name to the correct spelling

- Putting paper in a "broken" printer

I could still be part of the extreme ironing team - I could be the cheerleader - after all, I know HOW to iron, I just don't do it;)
