Anybody get this going? The Autograph website suggests this should be possible, you just don't get the fancy 3d bits as those require DirectX support. However when I try it, the program starts and terminates immediately.

Running Autograph 3, Windows 2003 SP1, terminal server in application mode, program installed through the add/remove programs thing as you're supposed to with TS. Using the standard XP client at the moment.

The thin client project I have to look into is for the maths department. If I can't get Autograph of all things working on it, the whole thing is going to fall on its arse :|

hang on... let's test it...

indeed, you don't get 3D graphs but everything else seems fine (although I haven't a clue how it works) :D

I hate to say it, but your Maths Dept will kill you if you cannot use the 3D features, they are something they will want to use a lot! When our cards rejected the software for a strange reason, there was practiacally war, and they really do want to use the 3D things, so all I say is be prepared for war!

Nobody has mentioned anything so far (after almost 1 year of using thin clients) so they can't use it that much and they definately cannot justify whinging! Besides, they can run it locally on their laptops if they need a 3D-graph for demonstration purposes in class.

Do you not do A Level Maths at your place Ric, as ours cannot live without it now, and all the Autocad courses push 3D, 3D, and even more 3D stuff! We have had 2 go on it and come back and they use it even more than before! Yours are lucky having Laptops, we have no such thing really, so we cannot use that excuse, but we dont use TCs anyway, but a warning to Autograph users, ensure that 3D does work, its rather fussy on cards at times, unless using Autograph V2 as that doesn't do 3D graphics.

They do A-level maths but they musn't use this featuer. I (and others) have 'issues' with the maths department at the moment and any requests they make are likely to be sent to the back of the queue anyway ;)

Some 3D stuff does work with terminal services but if you're going to be doing big rendering projects or the like, you would obviously want a a high spec machine/suite to do it in - in which case you run it locally.

/shrugs

Aside from this one issue, I've had no problems with DEP. The majority of our severs are opteron/2k3 SP1 based. Not to mention the large amount of A64/XP SP2 workstations we have.
