Outlook 2007 - complete and utter $%^"

Can I get it to un-block certain file attachements ? Can I £$%^

 

I have installed the relevant group policy, changed it to see level 1 attachements, forced a policy update, re-booted the PC [ all local btw ] and can I access the attachements ? NO - well done Microsoft - a fundamental aspect of daily life when it comes to E-mail you have well and truly messed up

Have you checked to make sure that the group policy has applied successfully - you say you've forced an update but not if it succeeded.

 

I've never tried to unblock attachments (most of the blocked types are things like .exe which I absolutely don't want to receive by email) but there are plenty of web sites suggesting that it does work.

 

Can you get the files put somewhere other than in an email? Skydrive or similar file space? Sharepoint?

Fixed it now - still annoying that you have to jump through hoops before you can read certain file attachements.

I had not changed the policy settings to say ' use group policy settings for outlook ' - yet another backwards thinking / double english setting from Microsoft - I am changing my policy settings IN GROUP POLICY, why do I have to tick a box to say I am doing that when I am all ready doing that in the group policy settings ????!!!!!!

I hate anything Vista / Office 2007 related at the moment.

Watch out for the cached Exchange mode GPO setting for 2007, it's written back to front and thus does the opposite to what you enable (or disable) on the policy
