leosk Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 Hi all I'm new here Not sure if i'm in the right place but I was just wondering could anyone help me out with the Newzbin invite? Much appreciated. leo
StewartKnight Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 You are not in the right place. This is a professional forum for ICT technicians in education, not a peer to peer or hackers forum
Hightower Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 Although newzbin is not peer to peer He's right.
rush_tech Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 weather hes right or not this is not the place to be asking for a newzbin invite!!!!
Geoff Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 Newsbin is a tool, so it isn't bad per say. The issue is what you use it for. He might be wanting to download Linux ISOs for all you know. To put it another way, shall we ban discussing Web and FTP servers because they can be used for software piracy? 1

This is exactly right - I'm sick of people here assuming what people will use it for. If it is wrong then fine, but don't assume that it's going to be used in that way automatically. You'll all have people hung for a crime they didn't commit. I'm looking for some new kitchen knives - anyone got any suggestions? Oh, wait. You can't help me right because I can use these knives to hurt someone. Get a grip people. Oh, and rushtech - why not let the mods be mods and you just be a member, rather than telling people how the forum should be run. Edited October 6, 2008 by Hightower

Hightower Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 I'm not trying to be a mod!!! its my opinion and I'm entitled to it!! It sounds more like a statement than an opinion. this is not the place to be asking for a newzbin invite
dhicks Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 I'm looking for some new kitchen knives - anyone got any suggestions? Naturally, I'd suggest you make your own. You can either forge them from metal then sharpen them with a steel or whetstone, or knap them from flint. Knife handles can be made from stalks of seaweed - push them on to the knife's tang when still wet, they will shrink on as they dry. -- David Hicks
witch Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 Well I AM a mod and I think this isn't the place either
Hightower Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 Well I AM a mod and I think this isn't the place either Well do something about it then.

If you can get some, antler makes a very good handle, looks pretty too. If you really have time get rings of various material of various widths. This way you get a nice pattern when all stacked together. You can then sand it to the correct shape you would like. Also remember full tang is the way to go! Must get around to making my own flint knife.
sidewinder Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 Id just congratulate him on wanting to use newsgroups rather than P2P rubbish! Newzbin is excellent, although obviously I wouldnt dream of using it for anything other than Linux ISO's To the OP - there are forums that deal specifically with providing NZB's - so if you cant get a newzbin invite, its not the end of the world
Hightower Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 Newzbin is excellent The first rule of EduGeek, we don't talk about Newzbin The second rule of EduGeek, we don't talk about Newzbin
treetops Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 The third rule is:: Pay no attention to Rush Tech
