Hi there,

Does anyone know whether it is possible to export students' reporting structure from Profiles to e.g. a memory stick so that teachers can write them offline, then import back into Profiles later? I have a feeling it's not possible unfortunately.

I'd like to start using Profiles as I want to do as much as possible within one database, but I need to get around the stumbling block of teachers not being able to write their students' reports from home. I know Learning Gateway is the ideal solution but we just don't have the money to cover the large upfront costs.

Many thanks,

Jonsi

You can import comment banks, not sure about individual reports. I believe there is a new feature request from Capita for this, C Tolley perhaps.

This would be a security risk however.

Not sure. I know you can use OMR sheets. Assuming you 1 have them and 2 are using the comment banks.

I would contact your LEA about remote access. So at least staff can access it SIMS from home.

As you say we have now moved to on-line working from home and dropped Teacher's Desktop. The recent Becta guidance rules out taking pupil data out unless it is encrypted which adds expense too.
