SteveT Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 "And I am not frightened of dying, any time will do, I don't mind. Why should I be frightened of dying? There's no reason for it, you've gotta go sometime." RIP Richard Wright. David Gilmour | The Voice and Guitar of Pink Floyd | Official Site
powdarrmonkey Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 I didn't even realise he was ill until it was reported by the BBC, it was very short from what I've gathered. A sad, sad day for progressive music.
witch Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 "I never said I was frightened of dying" Very sad I used to be in a band and we did 'Great Gig in the Sky' all the time I hope he is there - and enjoying it
Dos_Box Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 I always wanted to see Floyd live. I missed Queen too. RIP Richard, thnaks for helping to keep me sane during my tours in the Balkans.
Andrew_C Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 (edited) Ohhh, bugger. Seen them twice, had hoped to again... The Wall, and Earl's Court 1994. It just happened that I found the original broadcast of the concert on VHS last week, and have just transferred it to DVD. I'll be watching that tonight. Edited September 16, 2008 by Andrew_C
powdarrmonkey Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 I was too young for anything but Live 8, which of course then didn't hold quite the same significance. I'd hoped they might do just one more proper retiring concert like the old days, but it was never very likely.
