Does anyone know of any software that can be used to draw a network map. I'm looking for something similar to google maps, so you can easily zoom in and out and hide/show certain things (i.e. fibers, switches etc)

I have used the dude - although it's good, it's not what I'm looking for. I don't need it to be automated....

I want to have a map of the school and then draw the ports, switched, fibers etc myself. But I want someone to be able to zoom in, move to a different area of the school etc when looking at it.

Much like the RAC route planner but with a map of the school instead.

Funnily enough if you find something could you definitely post up. I want to make an overview map of the whole school with network and services on but that is easily updatable. So far eithe rit is develop a Flash map of the school I made which would be too time consuming or use something horribly propriatory like Visio.

The hunt continues.

We imported a map of the school into Photoshop and have added different layers for WAP's, switches, cable runs etc.

Not as user friendly as you are probably wanting but it works for us.

3 com network supervisor is free to use, initially you get a 60 day trial, but register it for FREE and you get an unlocking key to allow you to keep using it, at least I think they still do this for free anyway, they certainly used to.

If you have managed switches it will tell you all sorts of information on them and produces a very accurate network map.
