No WordPad no more, Abiword has no privacy statement, so what to use

The primary school I do support for was using WordPad to get kids started on Word Processing and launching apps/basic computer literacy.

 

Was going to go for Abiword, which is nice and simple but it does not have a privacy statement or any info about if it shares date.  I realize it is a offline word processor with no login required so it clearly does not but getting it authorized here without this is going to be a nightmare.

 

So does anyone know any other free simple word processors with a proper website/privacy statement we can use?

It's open source - what it can and cannot do is out in the open for the world to see. Usually that means it's twice as secure and a million times better than anything chock full of ads or cloud reliant.

It does not need any privacy statements, it doesn't need anything at all - no more than you would for using Wordpad, or Notepad, or writing on a post-it note.

Cheers! I’m currently working on pushing out the latest V1.0.9 with various fixes and features added.

 

I have got a privacy policy on the website however that’s really as far as it goes, like the others, it’s an offline word processor that doesn’t collect any information.

 

The only info collected is the info provided on signup, name email, school postcode etc.

 

Hopefully it’s of use to you but might be a bit overkill if it’s just simple word processing training you’re after
