chekmate1984 Posted Tuesday at 08:18 Posted Tuesday at 08:18 Hi all, We have noticed that several of our HP computers have been running very sluggishly recently. It is unclear if this is related to a recent update or a hardware issue, and because it is only affecting certain HP machines, it has been difficult to pinpoint the cause. Has anyone experienced a similar issue following recent updates? Any insights would be appreciated so we can identify the root cause. Thanks
ICTDirect_Dave Posted Tuesday at 08:24 Posted Tuesday at 08:24 Is it a particular model or across several? I'll ask our engineers if we've come across anything.
RobFuller Posted Tuesday at 08:29 Posted Tuesday at 08:29 @chekmate1984 not HP EliteDesk 800's by any chance?
chekmate1984 Posted Tuesday at 08:46 Author Posted Tuesday at 08:46 so far we have noticed this on HP 260 G3 DM and HP ProDesk 400 G5
RobFuller Posted Tuesday at 08:51 Posted Tuesday at 08:51 What issues are you experiencing? We've had a number of reports of performance issues on our HP EliteDesk devices. Initially, we suspected OneDrive sync activity, particularly where users have large numbers of files and folders synchronising. Interestingly, the issue appears to be affecting office-based EliteDesk machines only, while laptops seem largely unaffected, which is making it more difficult to pinpoint the root cause. Our affected devices are primarily 10th Generation Intel-based EliteDesks. I'd be interested to know whether you're seeing similar symptoms and if you've identified any common factors.

They're drastically underpowered as desktop chips, and this model won't have received a BIOS update for the 2023 Secure Boot certs, whereas one was released for the 400 G5 in March, I think. It's worth checking to see if that needs doing on the G5's. Edited Tuesday at 08:58 by ICTDirect_Dave

Thanks Can you try starting in safe mode with networking on the models effected, try logging in as a local account and see if that improves the performance? Look at system logs to see if anything stands out? Edited Tuesday at 10:27 by Davit2005
