Partial Solar Eclipse - 12th of August [EYE PROTECTION REQUIRED EVEN NEAR/AT MAXIMUM]

In my location, at the maximum, about 94% of the sun will be covered by the moon. This will happen at around 7:15 pm. This will be close to sunset, and so it will be low in the sky.

Is anyone going to be watching this anywhere cool? I'm off to the Ribble estuary to see it with a nice big sky.
If any of you take a decent pic of it, then feel free to post it up here
And don't forgot to use proper eye protection!

There's a nature walk with a clear view of the west ~10 mins walk from me.

 

Just need to find a cardboard box of reasonable dimensions.

Had a good position from the end of the drive, and the pinhole camera I made from yesterday's Amazon box was a great success. (Much better than the collendar, which I couldn't get to work.)

Went up a hill with friends, picnic and wine. Enjoyed the partial eclipse and then a very beautiful sunset. Was nice that lots of people were also enjoying the evening, many with colinders!

Tried taking  a photo inside the pinhole camera and it came out way better than I expected.  Between the eclipse and watching the Perseids later on 'twas quite an "astronomical evening".

Sadly, I couldn't get a decent pic, but got a lovely one of the sun over an old tractor.
