  1. Went up a hill with friends, picnic and wine. Enjoyed the partial eclipse and then a very beautiful sunset. Was nice that lots of people were also enjoying the evening, many with colinders!
  2. When I open a downloaded report, I usually have to click on the data source and connect it to the shared one already setup
  3. You need to setup the Data Source - which is the connection to the iSAMS database. If you don't have the name and login details you will need to raise a ticket to get them from iSAMS

    iSAMS grr...

The activities module has never worked for us, and there does not appear to be any development in that area. We want to customise who some detention/sanction emails go to and are limited in this. I have just spent most of this morning rewriting the new exam access export so that it can run from pupil manager and work for how we need it as the new export does not work as well as the previous version. The inability to save old contact details, and the big one is that our SEN department mostly save the data in SharePoint as they find Student Registers unworkable. I think it doesn't help that most of the development is going towards areas we don't use and don't think we ever will. It does still have strong points, but we do need to look at other products to see if there is a better fit

    iSAMS grr...

Likewise, I am sure that we will be jumping ship at some point. I know that no MIS will be a perfect fit but currently I am finding iSAMS is becoming less and less of a good fit

    iSAMS grr...

So we have been an iSAMS school for sometime, and it seems to me that it is no longer fit for purpose. They keep promising changes (the mythical Curriculum Manager) that then don't happen, other parts of the system are woefully neglected and they keep wanting to charge for new modules at extortionate prices. And now we finally have the promised update to Exam Access Arrangements which does not appear to include an easy way for teaching staff to see which pupils in their class will need help in exams. Is anyone else using iSAMS and feeling the need to change? Has anyone switched to a different MIS - if so which one? Or feel free to join in my anti-iSAMS rant!!
  7. Haven't had any problems after the reboot - just the annoyance of unexpectedly rebooting!
  8. It causes no problems on some PCs, reboots in the middle of working on others and slowness until rebooted on others for us
  9. Hi, We have had some PCs restart when they shouldn't have, and it looks to be KB5074109 as a quick google shows it has caused other issues such as slowness and the favourite BSOD! If you can, I would avoid this update River
  10. Just started King Sorrow by Joe Hill. His dad is Stephen King who I am a fan of, and read pretty much most of his work in my teens. Now I am preferring Joe's work, I am finding him a better writer
  11. Working now
  12. Here too!
  13. Ours is back
  14. Same here! Assuming that it is related to the Microsoft outages, and once someone has had their cornflakes it will be sorted. Will give it a while and then raise a ticket
