Thing is, with the prior posted workaround, how long can we potentially go for (if Ativion don't fix the issue in a reasonable timeframe) until the software decides it hasn't checked in for X number of days and cuts us all off again?

Yes I am sure we bought a perpetual license for Impero and that our contracts with them are for support; I will have to double check this though. But obviously it is checking in behind the scenes ! What would happen running the Impero server without Internet Access (I was tempted to do this with our Papercut server after that vulnerability issue)

At the point of renewal a year or so ago, they told us that this would be converted to a SaaS license whether we wanted it to be or not. We didn't renew at the time due to budget-flow issues so we're still on our existing perpetual license. The only drawback for us is we're stuck on 8.6.26 which doesn't allow for Manifest V3 on our Chromebooks.

As it stands, theoretically we ought to be able to run our Impero server without internet access but anyone on the SaaS license might run into difficulty I'd think.
