That's interesting about needing to have a contract with a WEEE supplier - do Enviro Electronics offer such a thing?

Most of the emails I have sent with queries to them are responded to with one liners - they don't always sound the most professional outfit!  Anyone else had the same?

It seems to be talked about less now, but when we were implementing GDPR, it was a definite "must have" to have a contract with whoever takes your WEEE. Essentially they're a data processor, because you're (or at least, most people are) relying on them to securely wipe your data from any devices or storage medium you send them. Potentially if you do all of that in house, it's not an issue, but I'd get a contract anyway just so expectations are clear and to make sure you're covered.

Enviro Electronics do provide these contracts, although I did have to do some chasing to get ours renewed recently. They get the job done, but yes, they do take a bit of prodding to do so sometimes!

"Contract" is probably the wrong word, Ad-hoc or ongoing agreements are absolutely fine as long as you & they satisfy the requirements and have the relevant paperwork to show them acting as a data processor, certificate of destruction, waste transfer notes etc. As long as you have a full audit trail for asset disposal you're fine.

OK, thanks.  I used to use PRM Greentech and had access to an online portal to see my collections/certficates, etc.  Not sure if the Envio Electronics also have this sort of system?
