Adobe CC - Intune Install

The Adobe Apps package is around 21GB, we currently deploy that to IT rooms with GPO, but as a move to Intune seems imminent and pushing this huge file to multiple machines could be problematic, does anyone have any good ideas to have a local source that Adobe/Intune uses to install?

We set up a really minimal installer for Adobe CC that literally just has the Creative Cloud client in it. We then allow end users the ability to install the programs they need, when they need them, which is an option in the Adobe package builder. That minimal installer is small enough that it deploys through Intune without any problems.

 

If you're installing to something like an IT suite though, and want all the programs pre-installed and ready for the end user, I'm not sure there's much of a way around deploying the full 21GB package. At least with Intune it runs in the background. I guess you could deploy a script, which then kicks off the installer from a local server? But that's a bit of a hack and goes against the spirit of managing the devices in Intune.

We just push it direct from the cloud - no issues.

 

I have a script for InTune that automatically patches it as well. Again, downloads and installs the updates from the cloud.

If it’s for an IT suite, do you really need a full cloud install? Run a script that points to the install files on a file share. Mobile devices I get it, but no point going fully cloud install for static devices.

This is what Delivery Optimization is for. It creates a cache of downloaded content from the cloud on a local PC. The other PCs on your network poll the other computers to see if they have the content before they go to the cloud.

 

The downside is that you need to have space on the computers for this to work. If you've got a suite full of 120GB or 240GB SSDs, then you're boned.

We deploy Adobe CC via Intune. Admittedly, not all the apps (i think 6-7) but the packaged .intune file is still ~10GB.

 

For updates, you could configure a scheduled Remediation Script to execute RemoteUpdateManager.exe periodically (just ensure this option has been selected/enabled within the Adobe package you download)
