3 Monitors, mirror 2 but have one on extended.

We have SmatTVs, a monitor and teachers use a laptop. what we want o do is allow teachers to mirror Smart TV on the monitor (or I guess laptop screen) and have the other monitor/laptop screen separate (I guess set to extend).  

 

The SmartTV does have a HDMI out and we considered plugging this into the monito but that reduces flexibility. We want the teacher to use both laptop screen and monitor to do work on 2 screens, also they can use the monitor when SmartTV is not turned on.

 

So hardware is Laptop, SmartTV, Monitor and docking station.

If you do go the Dock option I recommended links below as cheap (£28.00) and works on my 3 monitor set up.  Also charges the laptop with USB-C too but the leads short so handy if you buy a longer USB-C extension lead.

just a note that I do this with lenovo docks on lenovo laptops.   The laptops have small screens and mirror to larger desktop screens, plus a larger pupil display panel.   It either works well or gets really confused and screws up.  This is single USB-C and was supposed to be an easy fix.  For some people we have a long USB-c going into the panels (extend) and a HDMI for the mirror display.  This then screws up the sound output sometimes.  Cant win 'em all.

Hardware permitting, have you tried using intel's built in graphics command centre? We managed a similar setup using this.
