Data Loggers - Primary School

Does anyone use any modern data loggers in Primary schools—not the old TTS models that relied on Windows XP? I can’t get the old Logbook Graphing software to run on Windows 11, so we’re looking for alternatives.

Ideally, I’m trying to find out whether there are current data loggers that still come with Windows‑compatible software, rather than ones that only work through an Apple app. I know TTS has a Bluetooth version at around £120 each, but that one only works with an Apple app, and even those devices are getting quite old now.

 

If anyone knows of good, up‑to‑date options, I’d really appreciate recommendations.

They work over usb and bluetooth. We used to use the Chrome app on chromebooks but as Chrome Apps

are being phased out we now use the Progressive Web App (PWA) which also works well on windows https://easysense2.app/

Thanks for this and seems exactly what I'm looking for to work with Windows but cannot believe the cost at £150 per unit!  definitely priced for group work but school was looking at 1 per student so think this is a no goer.

We (mostly in secondary) really like the uLog USB line (https://www.logitworld.com/logit-ulog)  because they appear to the OS as a keyboard and send the temperature (or whatever) as text and the software is cross-platform (on desktop/laptop).

 

Potentially a bit too pricey though.

 

(They'll technically work on an iPad/Android/iPhone with a USB-A > Lightning or USB-A > USB-C adaptor and a text editor but visually the information isn't as usable if you're demonstrating something to the kids.)

yes not cheap, I think we paid £750 for the 5 pack with temp sensors and charging tray. looks like there's

a new VU pro model 5 pack for £795 on the website. You will get years of use out of them though 🤞

5 seems to work well for a class here, e.g. one per table, we tend to use the EasyLog mode where Vu+ will

capture data until stopped, e.g. leave it capturing overnight, and then you can see how cold / dark / quiet your

room got. PS not looked at the new Pro model so not sure on spec / features.

also if you have any ipads you could try some apps e.g. I think we've used these two:
