Not sure if anyone else has seen this, but at the end of the year PayPal will no longer be supporting automatic data syncs with Bromcom.

I have asked them for reasons for this and got to replies. Looks like this going forward will have to be a manual sync, thats going to be fun for someone to remember to log in dialy and push a sync.

Anyone else in the same boat? You would begin to think this is some MIS war between ParentPay and Bromcom, making life difficult for each other.

+1 for switching to MCAS. Can link with most catering companies too. I think the fees were less too.

Wraparound Clubs, Trips, Items, Dinners, all in one place. Nothing but positive feedback from switching.

Why are you stuck? If it's already included in your Bromcom license then no reason not to switch, even if you've an agreement with PP.

Given the quality of the ParentPay MISSync I assume the 10 year old who wrote it in the summer holidays had to go back to school and they don't know how to update it

Our catering system (Tali) only links to ParentPay at the moment, a newish adventure.

I cannot see any traction in anyone wanting to move away from ParentPay so looks like were are stuck with it for now.

Its not even MISSync, its an intergration built in to ParentPay that has a 3rd Party User account, and at 10am every morning it logs in and gets the data it needs. At the time we moved to Bromcom it seemed almost in front of the times without having to use MISSync as we did with SIMS or a 3rd party such as GroupCall.

Not much we can do and both sides are being quiet on why this is happening.

Based on the page you linked, it looks like Bromcom are removing the link not ParentPay and it makes sense for them to want to move all the external access to use their standard API rather than having a bespoque link.

We've always had ParentPay set up to use the API and it's never caused any problems. (Surely you only need to sync when you have new starters rather than every day?)

That said, it does seem like a great excuse to jump over to MCAS payments.

Need to be caeful with FSM updates, yes it doesnt have to be daily. However, its one of those things that can easily be forgotten.

Yes it does read as Bromcom are removing it, however not having any reasoning for the removal makes it hard to judge. Just checked with our catering provider and they only list ParentPay as their provider so rules out MCAS in the short - medium term.

Bit of the tread bump. As of this morning, our ParentPay upload are still working... There is no settings in our Bromcom for it though.

I am trying to find a template CSV for our pre-admissions. I think because we are Scomis hosted (for now) this hasn't been turned off properly...

Same here after all of the threats.

It seem however to only update when there are changes, And in ParentPay if I need to force a sync that method still also works.

They are exiting the hosting market soon

Oh, that's very disappointing news. We were hoping to move over to them over the summer to avoid the usual Bromcom collapse in September.

We were happy with Scomis for SIMS support so it wasn't a big jump for us to go with them for Bromcom. A few snags haven't been ironed our since October, which might be one of the reasons they are exiting the hosting biz for Bromcom. Sucks I will have to go back to all our 3rd parties to update our integrations and PowerBi reports... the URL won't be bromcom.scomis.org
