MatthewL Posted November 7, 2025 Posted November 7, 2025 We have daily notifications setup and users are receiving these, its also setup to send instant notification if anyone attempts to do on something they shouldn't. A number of staff are getting them but a few are not, I have done a message trace in Exchange and its not been sent, is there anything I need to do in smoothwall for a user to get a instant notification?
Joeloman Posted November 10, 2025 Posted November 10, 2025 In Smoothwall Cloud Filter (under safeguarding) you will find a new setting for how quickly safeguarding alarms should be sent.
MatthewL Posted November 10, 2025 Author Posted November 10, 2025 This is on premises box rather than cloud.
Joeloman Posted November 10, 2025 Posted November 10, 2025 If you also have a Smoothwall Cloud Filter and Smoothwall Cloud Reports license (Hybrid setup), the alarms are managed via the cloud. Since August, you can set direct alarms to any person, before only suicides went directly to the admin.
5tu Posted November 11, 2025 Posted November 11, 2025 Is Smoothwall on-prem box configured to send alerts to individual users or an exchange distribution group?
tom_newton Posted November 11, 2025 Posted November 11, 2025 It's possible to get on prem to send via the cloud these days - much more reliable, as mail is delivered from our servers, which have excellent deliverability. Support can quickly help you with that.
MatthewL Posted November 11, 2025 Author Posted November 11, 2025 It's configured to go to individual users, all bar 2 users get them for some reason. Customer is on prem not cloud.
enbiggen Posted November 11, 2025 Posted November 11, 2025 (edited) It was a while back, but I remember having to create an email group to send to, as beyond a certain number of email addresses, it didn't send them to them all... Edited November 11, 2025 by enbiggen
MatthewL Posted November 11, 2025 Author Posted November 11, 2025 Yeah that is what I am getting at the moment. Going to look at it again in the morning and go from there.
MatthewL Posted November 19, 2025 Author Posted November 19, 2025 Now resolved, changed to using a distributions list which instantly fixed the issue and everyone getting them. Clearly a bug that it doesn't sent to all emails if you do it that way.
