Any of you using all in one PCs?..........Thoughts?

All our desktops are HP ProOne or EliteOne now - only one power button, and repairs are no different to a laptop in terms of difficulty.

 

HPs ones these days can even be used as an HDMI monitor once they PC part isn't needed any more, reducing the costs for people who want 2nd monitors in the long run.

Been using Dell AIOs for quite a few years and no issues, other than one of our first batches having the external PSUs (avoid that if poss). Make sure you opt for wired kdb and mouse and not wireless. We tether the USB cables to the stand using cable ties. If doing that with an adjustable stand, allow for the full adjustment range without snagging any cables.

 

I've noticed that where we still have stand-mounted SFF base units, the pupils are increasingly confusing the monitor power button with the system power button.

Laptops tend to be more expensive, are less rugged and have a shorter refresh cycle. In my experience, some staff will push back against bringing in laptops as they see it as pressure to work from home (and if you aren't expecting them to take them home then you need charging lockers or somewhere to keep them overnight).

I've been really happy with our VeryPC Aspect All-in-Ones. Their service for repairs and spares can't be faulted, and the pricing is great. It is heartbreaking when someone breaks a screen though, as besides the cost you're down a whole PC, so that's something to bear in mind.
