Working on my shiny new iPads. I am LOVING LIFE.

 

Not bought any iPads for years, at least not to use like this. Now, we have Jamf and ASM is set up and working. I've got OIDC set up, and the iPads have a lovely login prompt on the screen. This has been flaky as hell today but somewhere near.

 

Now, a few questions:

1) Is it possible to set it so they don't have to set up a passcode? This can be reset in ASM, but it does appear to be one of the most stupid things I've ever seen. Password is managed by Entra ID, why does it need a passcode?! It then has password strength requirements and won't allow the same one as Entra - there is no way year 7 will cope with this.

2) Login screen - is it possible to not show the Other users dialogue and just ask for username, a bit like a Mac?

 

I need to get these a lot slicker to use before they go out.

 

1:1 is so far from not being an option it can't even see the option. The option is over the curvature of the Earth.

Part of 1 has been reduced - I can do a 4 digit PIN instead of a complex password, and set that as the policy for all student users. If they're staff in ASM this isn't possible, but that's no biggie. Still a hell of a pain and I'd prefer no PIN at all.
