word 2007 help

I have had the following email from a user today

Just updated to office 2007 over weekend

 

I am struggling with the new system! I need to know where I am in relation to the page – ie the last system showed which line you were on – when I pull up a bursar letterhead – it doesn’t tell me which line the email address is – it used to show 8.1

 

anyone care to let me know what they think she means here and if they know how to answer the user in question.

Not exactly line numbering. The status bar in previous versions of Word have shown what your user is asking for. ie. Line number, Column number. I'm guessing the same display can be had in 2007, (sorry machine with 07 installed is not connected at the moment otherwise I would be more helpful)

If you right click on the bottom bar in MS word.. you get a menu click on line numbering thats should be what ur after.

 

also i have attatched a reference guide which should help getting used to 2007 from 2003
