I'm trying to set up OS Deployment using vanilla w11 Wim rather than the "capture and deploy" method.

has anyone had any luck silently deploying Divx via sccm, online suggests there should be a silent switch, but I cant get it to be silent,

I have tried to package into msix, but it seems to be missing a file when launching.

Is VLC not an easier option to install?

ask them for what reason, and then explain it's not required because it's not 1998 anymore

"but how else am I going to play the end of summer term films like "shrek.2.1080p.webrip.fairlight.turkish.subtitles.avi" ?

Blimey that's scratched a bit of my memories I forgot existed.

Seem to recall using XVid instead. Also recall installing the K-Lite codec pack which somewhat incredibly is still updated 🤯

I just push the HEIF extensions and HEVC codecs out now and haven't had any complaints. I also push VLC out as a fallback.

Oh the days of ripping a DVD and waiting for hours for it to encode on a Tiny Pentium MMX 233 only to find the audio out of sync or the final file bigger than the original vob file

If you deploy VLC, just ignore DivX. You're just introducing unnecessary bloatware. VLC will play the files just fine. We used to deploy the K-Lite codec pack with media player classic :) It would play just about anything

If it didn’t, there was always Irfanview with the add-ons pack.

Okay think that settles it,not worth the faff, just in the unlikely chance someone else comes across this post , I heard back from their support who confirmed silent install is not possible anymore , they apparently will look to add it in the future
