mikkydoos Posted May 13, 2025 Posted May 13, 2025 (edited) Hi all, We're testing migrating from a AD/M365 hybrid scenario to Intune only manged devices. IT IS PAINFUL!!!! IT IS SLOW!!! IT IS COMPLICATED!!! Ahem.... Starting to look at RMM solutions that do the job better. ==> Windows clients.... software deployment is a must, patch management, reporting, monitoring, remote desktop?, security policies etc etc. ==> IOS looking for similar features to Mosyle, JamF IOS I can get away with Intune but Windows.... OMG its slow. Is anyone using a 3rd party cloud RMM tool to manage Windows? What is it and how do you find it ?? Does it replace Intune. How much does it cost? Cheers in advance Edited May 13, 2025 by mikkydoos
DalekSec Posted May 13, 2025 Posted May 13, 2025 Intune is the industry standard now, I've used it for 6+ Years without fault it's fairly straight forward once you start using it. I get the slow part, but normally just force a sync and it goes though. I agree iOS/macOS isn't great on Intune, i'd recommend going Moysle for that, but for Windows and Android Intune will do everything you need, even more so if hybrid and can still use GPO 1
thimon Posted May 13, 2025 Posted May 13, 2025 We use PDQ Connect for our Windows devices, with Macs being supported soon. I would not want to do my job without it, does everything you have mentioned. Pricing: https://www.pdq.com/pricing/connect/ 1
MrKJLS Posted May 13, 2025 Posted May 13, 2025 Action1 is free for 200 devices now. We use it for server management and its pretty good and I use it manage some personal devices and would highly recommend it. https://www.action1.com/ 2

We're struggling with onboarding machines whilst testing Autopilot. E.g. Wipe command takes hours to filter down to the client. As do software installs, policies etc
t05h Posted May 14, 2025 Posted May 14, 2025 (edited) Intune is not an RMM. You won't get another product that does autopilot and the advantages of that e.g. theft deterrence are massive. You might find a product that supports applying MDM policies to windows but it won't be as good as intune imo. That said if you want to interact in realtime or deploy software quickly, its not really designed for that. Edited May 14, 2025 by t05h 1

It's very good for patch management and scripts but not software deployment (at least the free tier). PDQ or patch my pc is the gold standard for software deployment but might be costly.
