Finance system that works with Sims

Hi All,

 

We use Sims in our schools, our current finance system has no any native way of working with Sims. We build custom integration tools, but these are not great and our software developer guy left. So we are looking for something better that has some kind of integration with Sims. 
I used Sims Finance before in my previous school, we are waiting to hear about new development coming together with Sims Next Gen, but Parent Pay group are really quiet about it. 
 

Please let me know any suggestions

What for? Very few systems need to directly link into a school's MIS - ours doesn't with Bromcom and didn't with SIMS. FMS doesn't even do much with SIMS data and hasn't for years.  I guarantee there will be very little to no value-add in any level of integration even at payroll level as more and more schools seem to use external providers for that anyway.

We have lots of trips, clubs and all sorts activities that the parents pay for. 
So it it is nice if students and parent information are there, pull from Sims. Otherwise we have to each time run a report and import that information. 

 

Additionally we have staff who can directly claim expenses in the current system, all their details are synced from Sims.

Ah I see - Things like trips, parent payments should be handled by a provider such as Iris, Wisepay etc (modern MIS's do this as well, SIMS needs to be linked into yet another expensive IRIS product). All of those will sing to your MIS via Groupcall/Wonde so syncing there isn't an issue.

Just to second BromcomOT - not only is our Finance fully integrated with our MIS it is also integrated with our Parent App MCAS so you can map those trips, clubs etc to the correct cost centres and ledgers making showing your income so much easier.
