snugara Posted March 1, 2018 Posted March 1, 2018 Something I've been wrestling with for a while...what specific qualifications / courses are there these days for a new School Data Manager/Officer who wants to have some kind of recognised accreditation to their name? Some of the data courses I've researched veer more into the computer science and programming areas, and nothing at all to do with analysis of school data. I could take an NVQ in something but ideally I'd prefer something specific...especially as I will be funding myself on a meagre salary and cannot afford to choose the wrong thing. I have had some SIMS training and the rest is down to my in-school training with my line manager and my own self-study. Any pointers would be gratefully received! Cheers all, S
Emm Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 Hi, have you seen the SSAT Data Managers Award? Well worth doing https://www.ssatuk.co.uk/cpd/accountability-and-data/national-data-managers-award/
garbage46 Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 I have not heard of the National Data Managers' Award before, do you know what level it is, as in like a level 4 qualification? There isn't much information but it looks similar to the CSBM qualification I completed a few years ago. A selection of modules with some self evaluation. I recently completed a distance learner post grad in Business Intelligence through DMU. Business Intelligence Systems and Data Mining MSc/PG Dip/PG Cert Pick and choose the modules that dont have an exam
snugara Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 This is great, thank you both. I had seen something about the SSAT, but I have tried to research what else is out there before making a final decision on one or other thing. It's good to get some feedback, much appreciated
WayTooTricky Posted February 8, 2019 Author Posted February 8, 2019 I've been looking for similar information - did you make a choice? How have you has it been?
