Redwinegirl Posted March 12, 2025 Posted March 12, 2025 Hi - my feeds have worked no problem previously, now getting lots of time outs - there is a lot of data, but has been previously. What could cause this timeout? We are having webfilter issues within school, could this be affecting anything? Or could Bromcom have changed the database in some way, that has resulted in slowness? Thanks!
Theblacksheep Posted March 12, 2025 Posted March 12, 2025 The amount Bromcom allow you to pull from an odata feed isnt great, keep in mind it's pulling it each time and not taking into account existing data, but if you have filter issues this will impact it.
Redwinegirl Posted March 12, 2025 Author Posted March 12, 2025 Thanks - I'm using quick reports rather than Odata (we need lesson grades) - have split the file so smaller but still issues. Even small reports are now slow, which they weren't before?

Thanks! Good morning - web filtering could be affecting this if it's identifying the movement of lots of data to your browser as a problem and throttling it. Have you tried running the reports outside of the school's network, e.g. on a 4/5g network or from your home wifi? this can rule out the school's network as causing an issue. If you have a case logged, feel free to DM me the details and I can take a look. Edited March 13, 2025 by Bromcom_Alastair
Marci Posted March 13, 2025 Posted March 13, 2025 Livefeeds have been randomly throwing 500 Server Errors or 502 Bad Gateway since Feb half-term for many (separately to those caused by last weekend’s _x0020 fix), with the error being thrown whilst refreshing in BI service online… so v.unlikely it’s an on-site filter issue… I’ve been shuffling schedules so as not to clash with Vision syncs / other reports refreshing which seems to have alleviated it in most cases, and suggests it’s a serverside load issue. (Plus we have all BC endpoints etc whitelisted on our filters anyways)

Marci Posted March 13, 2025 Posted March 13, 2025 PS: For us, that means setting refreshes up so they take place in a 90min window from half-past the hour onwards, on even hours only. (Our vision sync is every 2 hrs and takes between 12 & 20 minutes) 1
Marci Posted March 13, 2025 Posted March 13, 2025 Aside: last night was first night since Feb HT that I didn't have a single failure... 1
