ITGuyNW Posted March 5, 2025 Posted March 5, 2025 Hi all Back int'olden days, if students wanted to put any printer credit on, they'd spend their pennies with us or in the Library. Now we hardly get students asking to additional credit now because printing has reduced to a low level and usually the starter credit each year is enough. I've been asked if its possible to connect Papercut with Parent pay for anyone who does want to add credit. Now looking online it looks like this is the case but not much in the way of how to implement it. Does anyone have any documentation on how to approach this? I've asked both companies but not had a reply. Also does this involve additional licencing? (I assume it does, nothing is free now) Thanks
mthomas08 Posted March 5, 2025 Posted March 5, 2025 This has tickled my fancy. I honestly thought this wasn't possible but there it is.. on the list. https://www.papercut.com/discover/integrations-and-customizations/integrations/ I'd be interested in this and I might ask PaperCut.
Edu-IT Posted March 5, 2025 Posted March 5, 2025 It may be more cost effective to sell top up vouchers via ParentPay rather than integrating the payments?
PaperCutterAl Posted March 6, 2025 Posted March 6, 2025 Hey now papercutter here. I dug around re PaperCut's ParentPay integration. It's developed and sold by a 3rd-party company, iTS (who also happen to be one of our Authorised Partners). My recommendation (if you haven't already) is get in touch with your PaperCut reseller/print partner, who should be able to get you more info. It's not one of our add-ons so I don't have info on it
ThomL Posted March 6, 2025 Posted March 6, 2025 We have ParentPay linked with PaperCut - there's software you install that processes the transactions from ParentPay and then use the the Papercut API to complete the transactions. Users are matched using the secondary card/id number in PaperCut, members of staff have their staff code, students have their admission number (matching our ParentPay MISSync settings). Latest version includes a web frontend that you can login to see the last time the tool synced between PaperCut & ParentPay and I believe see a list of the latest transaction and initiate a sync. Not sure how much this tool costs - it was bundled into our copier tender process as a requirement, but have used it at several schools and it's always been solid. from memory very easy to get setup and working. Here's a blog post about the tool/gateway, might be worth a read - think they offer a trail license: ParentPay payment gateway for PaperCut – Select Technology Ltd 1
