[24h2 / lts 2024] Windows 11 - No right Click

Hi all,

 

Hope you are well.

 

I am testing Windows 11 at my school. I have updated the templates and using mostly the existing Windows 10 GPOs, rather than creating a new Win11 OU.

 

On my testing I don't have right click on, desktop, file explorer, anything.

 

I can't see any errors in eventvwr anyone else had this? Any ideas?

do a rsop (On the client), check user > Administrative Templates / Windows Components / File Explorer

 

Check : Remove File Explorer’s default context menu

Hiya hope you are well. Apologies for the delay in coming back to you, been a bit mad at work. Sorry does this remove the right click menu completely?

 

I have found the right menu appears on the desktop, file explorer etc. But not on the taskbar. So when I right click on the start menu icon I get nothing, when I right click on the file explorer icon I get nothing either

Right click on taskbar is another policy

 

User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Start Menu and Taskbar 

 

And have a look at various policies under there particularly "Remove access to the context menus for the taskbar"
