Mouse - scrolling issue

Newly imaged device, Dell wireless mouse which works perfectly on previous device but on this one when scrolling down using the wheel it often goes up.

 

Settings all match, works fine on old device so something specific to new device, uninstalled and reinstalled driver, any suggestions as doing my head in.

Move the dongle/receiver to another port? Does it still happen?

Change the batteries? I've seen devices do some really weird stuff when wireless peripherals are running low on battery.

Similar to @Rob_D's suggestion I have seen mouse-odd change wether a device is plugged in or not (in my case it was a dodgy PSU causing pointer jump)

Makes no difference where USB reciever is still happens and in two very different environments.

 

Battery is charged in is, even tried plugging it via the USB cable and using it that way, no change.

For elimination purposes: Remove the USB receiver and plug in a cabled mouse. Does it still happen?

I've seen this before but I can't 100% remember what it was - possibly a rogue driver version on windows update.

Wired mouse is working fine just the wireless one so nothing OS wise so will look at the mouse and go from there.

It would appear the mouse is faulty, will be getting it replaced from Dell.
