Hi All just looking for advice and guidance how do you all do creative cloud and adobe app updates ours don't seem to update automatically and when we update manually if we kick and group of a lot of them going at once (20+) it tanks our internet and takes all our bandwidth

We deployed it with the automatic updates feature enabled. Seems to have been working fine for the last five years or so with are no noticeable bandwidth issues. (2000-ish users, 1200-ish computers, 700 have the full Creative Cloud suite, 1Gb/1Gb internet connection)

I disable auto updates as allowing them to update can update major versions then you you get numerous different versions across your network and if you have redirected start menu can cause an issue with broken links

I look to push out major release via sccm first removing all versions. Either through application deployment or osd

Cheers you are similar size to us thought the solution maybe be within our package settings will have to give auto updates a try and see how it goes

You could setup your own adobe update server, and point Adobe RUM at that, bare in mind that it needs ~200-300GB of storage space and the initial sync takes a long time though... but the benefit is that you end up with only one device on prem pulling those updates, saving your internet connection.

Personally though i've got an Adobe RUM scheduled task set to pull them down, with a random delay set so that they don't kick off together:

This only installs updates/patches which are minor versions, Major version changes need to be installed manually or via alternative deployment method.

How are you addressing the security vulnerabilities in between major releases?
