MK-2 Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 I'm pretty sure it's something to do with either ISA or SurfControl. Got a brand new laptop here, got it on the network and went to windows update page and get an error page (0x80072EFD) Looking around it seems it either relates to ISA blocking certain things in the update page, or SurfControl expecting authentication from the page which the page doesn't give. Any ideas on how I'd resolve this. I want to install a WSUS server but don't have the media on site to install IIS so for now windows update is all i have!
FN-GM Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 What version of ISA is it? Also do you have caching of Windows update enabled? Thanks Z
MK-2 Posted August 11, 2008 Author Posted August 11, 2008 ISA 2004. And is the caching an option in ISA?
MK-2 Posted August 11, 2008 Author Posted August 11, 2008 in that case i have no idea i've never really used ISA before apart from just making and editing the firewall rules.
FN-GM Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 I don’t have an ISA install to hand so i can't guide you. Apparently there are some problems with it and disabling might fix it.
MK-2 Posted August 11, 2008 Author Posted August 11, 2008 ok, cheers mate, ill have a quick google on it....see if i can find anything now i know where to look
MK-2 Posted August 11, 2008 Author Posted August 11, 2008 just looking and one option was to install the ISA client on the laptop. installed it and lo and bloody behold its updating cheers for the heads up mate
