The inability to use play store apps is a real big negative as once you deploy proper chrombooks and the departments start using many play store apps and frankly, loving them - it's difficult to go back to a flex device with nothing on it apart from google slides etc.

If your startting from scratch though and are not already using 50 different apps it could be a goer though as it does just allow you to browse, and use google classrom etc.

We also have a few hundred Chromebooks that are past AUE but are still in a great (newish) condition, it would be a shame to recycle them, anyone had any experience in repurposing or using beyond end of support?

One of my primary schools has Flex devices and managed to find (after a lot of hunting) every app they needed in web format. Obviously things like scratch are web based, but there is probably a web based version of most apps.
