Vibeuin Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 Hi, Over the week holiday a few of our NET2 ACU's have gone down. Having a look through the forums I have found the solution of using NET2 Config utility to fix it however I have to wait for our server provider to get back to us to sort it this way. Has anyone had any experience of unplugging and plugging them back in, the Paxton boxes to solve this issue. Many thanks in advance.
mavhc Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 You can try to Reinstate them in the Doors section of net2
PotNoodleTech Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 They will be powered from somewhere - I would look at the power first make sure a trip switch hasnt tripped or something like that?

Scan099 Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 Powering them off will not fix this as the controllers have battery backups. Best way we found was to shut / no shut the network port which will then reconnect with DHCP.
HarryMonkey Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 Have you tried this ... https://www.smartsecurity.guide/how-to-reset-paxton-net2/ 1
speakercon Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 Do they all have their own ethernet connection, or are some daisy chained using rs485?

Best way we found was to shut / no shut the network port which will then reconnect with DHCP. If you are in a position to kill the power to the fused spur, you're probably in a position to open the box and disconnect the battery. That said, turning the network switch port off and on again is very much more comfortably on the IT side of the system.

Many thanks in advance. If you open the ACUs with a philips screwdriver you will see some green connectors that are connected to the 12v sockets on the main board. Pull either one of these green sockets to kill the power to the board. Another thing to check, some installers like to just plug the ACUs into the network and hope the DHCP server gives them an address. We have started giving all the ACUs static IPs configured in the PaxtonServerConfig application as we were finding if a DHCP server has been down for a while (ovwr a holiday) then the ACU loses it's IP. We are looking at putting thr ACUs and Paxton server on it's on VLAN at our schools so they are off the main network and so don't interfere with anything else.
