MatthewL Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 A Fujitsu network scanner would be my choice but not for that price, you would be looking a lower end printer/scanner devices. 1
steveg Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 Assuming there isn't a copier in close proximity that can be setup to do this that they can use? 1
andy_b Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 You may be able to add more functionality to a cheap scanner with NAPS2: https://www.naps2.com/ 1
dapaulio Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 What’s the type of school and what’s their print solution Surely the school must have printing requirements. Even for a primary a single mfd is cheaper than half a dozen or so desktop printers. I would look in to pitching a printing managed solution one or two devices for resilience. Remove all your desktop printers and scanners 1
Fazza Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 We use a ScanSnap double sided scanner but we only have the cheaper model (ScanSnap iX1300) at around £234+VAT so a lot more than your budget. It's a USB one so although you can put the paper in the automatic document feeder and press one button to scan them all at once (both sides) it requires a PC to be on as you configure the software (that runs in the background) to save in a particular location. We map a drive to a network location and it saves it all in there. The software does automatic OCR (when you enable it) so searching within scanned documents is possible, the software can also be configured to look for particular logos or text (like 'invoice') on certain parts of a page and then save it in a different location etc. so you could get Invoices from Misco to go in the Misco folder you have - a lot of setting up to do for that so we've not bothered! Not sure if you're going to get one that does what you want in your price range to be honest. 1
PotNoodleTech Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 All ouf our MFD/photocopiers can be used as a scanner so we don't buy any scanners for anyone. Scan to email for all staff seems to work fine. Do you have an MFD/photocopier you can use? 1
