TwistedHelixis Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 School ordered a bunch of iPads. The first I know about it is when they arrived at school. They weren't ordered pre enrolled in Apple school manager. They don't have any other Apple devices. Anything we can do to get them added?
FN-GM Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 Yes. Contact your supplier. They can do it retrospectively. I have had the same thing happen. Just took a call. 1
snagrat Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 If they don’t have any other Apple devices do they even have ASM setup? Won’t matter, but you will need to do that first 1
Techie-v2 Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 If ASM has been setup, you can use the apple configurater app on another device to add them to ASM. Turn them on and go through the setup untill you get to the wifi setup screen, then use the configurater app on another device. You basically point the camera at it and it adds it to your ASM account, then you can sync to intune etc 1
TheHyperTechie Posted September 23, 2024 Posted September 23, 2024 Depending on where they got them from, just ask the supplier to enroll them into ASM. It usually takes a couple of days, but it's worth it. Better than battling with Apple Configurator! 1
PotNoodleTech Posted September 23, 2024 Posted September 23, 2024 Sounds like the school doesnt even have apple school manager set up or a MDM like mosyle? You'll need to set all that up first before your supplier can do anything useful in terms of a white glove service. This is also not usually free, so if you havent paid for it you problably would have to set them up yourself
TwistedHelixis Posted September 27, 2024 Author Posted September 27, 2024 All sorted. Supplier added them to our ASM
davinderkundi Posted September 29, 2024 Posted September 29, 2024 You can still manually enroll the iPads in Apple School Manager, even if they weren’t pre-enrolled. When my school got new iPads, we had to do the same thing. You’ll need to use Apple Configurator on a Mac or PC to get them added. Just make sure you have the serial numbers ready—it makes the process smoother. 1
Chrisbf1 Posted September 29, 2024 Posted September 29, 2024 You can also enroll with Apple Configurator for iPhone. 1
