Laptops for staff using Intune

Morning all

 

After many years of trying - it might finally become a reality (saving my ears from staff moaning about needing a laptop and how many classroom they have to teach in......) - but is it looking likely I may get the green light to deploy laptops to staff July time in perpetration for next September.

 

What laptops have people found to be most reliable and robust?

 

Lenovo V14/V15 look good and appears to be favourite amongst people on here.

 

Are there any other laptops which people would recommend.

 

 

Will be getting USB C docks (with detectable cables preferably, so they are easily replaced if damaged) - like the look of the Lenovo Smart Dock

 

Do you keep a monitor on the desk for staff to use (as well as the projector/Interactive TV) or remove it, so they just have the laptop and dock + projector/TV?

Stone make nice laptops, and their warranty is great.

Stone repair Lenovo's at one point. I would also ideally choose a model that the back panel can be removed on we have Dell Latitude 3540. The Dell can be upgraded to 32 GB of RAM in the future.

 

I would get a Lenovo, Dell and HP option if it a big order you can often get one on trial.

Lenovo isn't bad kit but we are moving back to Dell, they are a bit more robust and support is better. USB C docks are the way forward, use a monitor with it all built in.

Can't comment on the old ones haha, but in my last job they were our go to. The StoneBook Pro models, they were good and easily upgradeable (RAM & SSD wise). They always came with 3 year next day on-site warranty as well which was nice. If we reported an issue at midday or even late afternoon they would send someone down first thing the following morning. We weren't close to their support centers either.

Dell's the best of the three big ones. No doubt.

We're buying Dell latitudes and recently we've been getting 5 years onsite and warranty. We've added accidental damage cover at a very reasonable price too.

As we supply all the major vendors we get to keep note of the failure rates/returns rates etc.

 

In terms of DOA - The best performers are Dell and Lenovo, if you are looking at a sizey order then thats worth considering.

 

in terms of warranty claims in the first 12 months - HP and Lenovo perform the best

 

In terms of customer satisfaction regarding warranty claims (time taken to resolve, communication, value etc..) Then HP & Lenovo lead by a long way.

 

I`m sure everyone has their own individual experience but the above is what we see in terms of trends across many orders over time.

Thanks for all the info :-)

 

Will be looking for around 100 laptops when the time comes but I first need to make sure Intune is fully setup and working as it should.
