[Bromcom] SMTP Exchange 2016 Routing

Apologies I am creating a new post - mainly because the other one related to this is for O365.

 

Anyone Migrated exchange 2010 to 2016 and had to change their mail settings?

Since migrating, the emails aren't going out but the test works fine. We had no issues previously and weirdly enough we can't actually see the connector for Bromcom - somehow must have been not needed or deleted.

 

I'm trying to work out exactly what I need to put on our mail server - Bromcom are basically just saying look at our FAQs and here's a long list of IPs. None of this helps.

 

Anyone know exactly what I need to add and where? Bromcom is giving a routing error but only when sending emails - not the actual test.

Use the Bromcom inbuilt SMTP, it works very well.

Get rid of exchange. Only 1 year left before exchange 2016/2019 go end of life. Better to purchase services from Bromcom.

The test email goes through but the standard MCAS emails won't plus the general comms is inconsistent.

 

As for leaving Exchange 2016, this was the plan but unforeseen circumstances forced us to delay it. So we're stuck with it for the moment.

I've just sent out 500 MCAS emails with no issue. It really is the most reliable way.

 

Using exchange server in 2024 seems pretty crazy to me.

We're now considering using the Bromcom system. We are on Exchange 2016 (long story) but not my preference. Still, one of those things I would like to know exactly what we're doing wrong either in the setup or permissions or something not right with the system.

In your position i'd just use the Bromcom SMTP service - it's cheap enough & reliable. We will be switching once SMTP auth is turned off later this year
