Link: analog audio tape cassette nostalgia - tapedeck.org

Tapeteck.org.png

Tapedeck.org is a project of neckcns.com, built to showcase the amazing beauty and (sometimes) weirdness found in the designs of the common audio tape cassette. There's an amazing range of designs, starting from the early 60's functional cassette designs, moving through the colourful playfulness of the 70's audio tapes to amazing shape variations during the 80's and 90's. We hope you enjoy these tapes as much as we do!

Lots of memories around the old blank cassettes. The cling film with the red tab, the plastic cases - sometimes a nice smoky brown, the card inlay, stickers you put on yourself (often a bit skew-whiff). I'm sure that's why some people have gone back to the old formats, the tactile nature of them, the anticipation and act of making a purchase. It was much more that clicking on a virtual button on an app.

But I've grown lazy and Spotify is just too easy. No going back for me :)

I wonder if they'll have those really cheap ones you got from the discount shops back then?

You know the ones (and we *almost* all bought some!), the sounded terrible when recorded on, and don't even think about saving programs to them!

Used to collect TDK tapes, wish I still had them all, Metal, Chrome, the complete range. Any money spare I used to buy them. Edited by Davit2005
