Logging in issues

I have a set of laptops and I have been reported that when users are logging into them they are taking a very long time to actually get logged in when I go to test these laptops everything is fine. Is this most likely a user error or exaggeration or could there be something wrong with these laptops that I cannot find.

Is the user account you are testing with in the same OU structure (assuming AD joined machines) and getting the same set of policies applied as the users reporting the slow log on times?

All logins long or jus the initial logon for each user?

Look in Windows Event Viewer under

 

Application and Services Logs | Microsoft | Windows | Group Policy | Operational

 

This will give you a full breakdown of what exactly was taking so long for those users, if you can get the date/time they logged in.

Good place to start - create a new user & place in the same OU as the user who is having problems. Then you can start looking at policies.

 

Enable verbose GPO to see details of what is taking so long on the login process
