One of our teachers likes to do The New York Times Wordle with the class each day. It used to work fine, but a couple of weeks ago it stopped loading and just displays a blank page.

It appears to be a filtering issue, I've whitelisted a number of the urls that I can see it uses, and can load the page ok on an account I have with less filtering, but still can't get it to load on the teachers account.

A live view of the filtering doesn't show anything being blocked, and I'm not getting a block page come up for the teacher just a blank page.

I'd like to try and fix it as the teacher also happens to be my wife! :-)

I only have the domain nytimes.com allowed. The rest is advertinsing and site analytics -sentry.io, googletagmanager and googlesyndication which I have blocked. Other trackers and advertisers don't load when those domains are blocked.

Plays normally for me - but I'm, not on a Smoothwall.

Have you whitelisted these

Also what authentication type you using. Idex, ntlm, etc

Idex should be ok but ntlm you will need to stick all the sites above in authentication exception as well as web filter whitelist

You wouldn’t but thought that be obvious. I was referring to the Cdn *.nyt.com it uses

Apologies, and I totally agree but it’s not obvious to a certain ISP who whitelists it and a number of ad servers and trackers for everyone by default

I've added the nyt.com ones too and it seems to be working now. Thanks everyone, means I get a peaceful weekend! :-)

Anything like that use Cdn planet. Add it to your tool box [emoji2]
